Second Periode of 2025/2026 Capstone Expo: IoT and AI-Based Innovations Become the Main Attraction for Visitors

Semarang, tekkom.ft.undip.ac.id – The Department of Computer Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro, held the Even Semester 2025/2026 Capstone Project Design Expo on May 22, 2026, at the 3rd Floor of the Computer Laboratory Building. The event marked the continuation of students’ Final Capstone Projects, where they showcased their final products, research posters, and scientific papers.

During this semester’s expo, innovations based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) attracted significant attention from visitors. One of the most popular projects was PATIL (Platform Automasi Terpadu IoT Lele), a Smart Feeding System developed for Budikdamber (Fish Cultivation in Buckets) as an urban farming solution to support food security. The system features automated scheduled fish feeding and real-time monitoring of cultivation conditions. This innovation is expected to improve the efficiency of fish farming while promoting sustainable urban food security. The project was developed by Shafa Naura Amuktya Dewani, Faisal Akbar, and Bagas Farrelino Harsono Putro.

Another project that drew considerable interest was SMIKOLE (IoT and Artificial Intelligence-Based Monitoring and Control System for Catfish Farming). The system integrates IoT and AI technologies to monitor water quality, predict environmental conditions, and provide early warnings for potential water quality issues in catfish farming in real time. The project was developed by Lucky Barga Aretama, Christenta Tirta Pradieva, and Nicolaus Evan Widyatna.

In addition, AeroSenseV2 was among the three most-visited projects during the exhibition. The system is a real-time air quality monitoring platform based on microcontrollers, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), and IoT, integrated with a web-based platform within Universitas Diponegoro. Designed to continuously monitor air quality across the university environment, AeroSenseV2 aims to support a healthier, more comfortable, and sustainable campus. The project was developed by Efesus Galatia Khasea Banurea, Anugrah Excell, Azriel Fawwaz Maulana, and I Made Suryanatha Bhaskara.

Through this exhibition, students demonstrated not only their technical competencies but also strengthened essential soft skills, including communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities, which are crucial for their future professional careers.
